Title:
ubiquity crashed with AssertionError trying to install from a local
  partition

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

After trying to install lucid from a local hard disk (/dev/sda1)
ubiquity crashes claiming it can't umount /cdrom.

I've tried the suggested fix of running:

  sudo umount -l -r -f /cdrom

Before running ubiquity, but this causes it to crash with the attached
  errors.
