This bug is strange. I am on the development branch of Precise Pangolin
(amd64), and the same thing happens to me after a few days of dist-
upgrading. It does not happen at all on the daily "fresh" iso. So my
educated guess is that this is related to config files being left around
somewhere by something.

Bug description:
  In msc mode  i get the following error message when connecting to the
  usb cable:

  DBus error org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor.Failed: An operation is
  already pending

  Using MTP on my mp3 player did not cause this error message and the
  device showed as mounted on connection.
