Thanks for your report. This is essentially also bug 188976, which I
recently fixed in precise.
We know about the keyboard question ordering bug; this should hopefully
be fixed by work on bug 800561.

Title:
crash when trying to install Ubuntu 11.10 with OSError: [Errno 39]
Directory not empty: '/target/usr/local/man'
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
First of all, trying to directly install Ubuntu is bad, because it starts by partitioning THEN by asking the keyboard (and it's rather cumbersome to type /mnt/vm when having a French keyboard and the installer thinks the keyboard is English).
So, I firstly tried Ubuntu then clicked on the "Install Ubuntu 11.10" icon... and it crashed! Maybe because I wanted to put the bootloader on a partition and not on the MBR?
