Title:
"AssertionError: Missing filesystem.size. " at start of file copy
  stage

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Similar to #557625, #670773, #697159, et al, the install crashes at
  the important actually-installing bit :P

The included casper.log and partman logs are probably of limited use
as (judging from timestamps) they appear to relate to the installation
  of the installer's host system.

Host system is a removable drive, attempting to install to the
internal disk of a laptop with no optical drive.
