[Bug 494058] [NEW] synaptic creates sources.list.d/filename with characters apparently ignored by apt

When I add my own PPA repository to Synaptic using the short ppa: form
synaptic creates a file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ with a file name
apparently ignored by apt.

My PPA: https://launchpad.net/~paul-climbing/+archive/lesstif+nedit
The string I used to add the repository: ppa:paul-climbing/lesstif+nedit
The file created: /etc/sources.list.d/paul-climbing-lesstif+nedit-karmic.list

When I run synaptic (or even apt-get update manually) the packages don't
show up in the list. When I moved the file to /etc/sources.list.d/paul-
climbing-lesstifnedit-karmic.list (so without the + sign) everything
worked fine.

Please tell me if you need more info.
