  trying to update from 11.10 to 12.04 alpha 2

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  using the instructions that were posted on Planet Ubuntu. Attempting to update from 11.10 to 12.04 alpha 2 using "update-manager -d".
  The GTK pointer(?) failed, and that was about as far as  I got.
