Earlier we also see error messages about /dev/sda1:

Bug description:
  Kubuntu DVD - OEM amd64 Alpha 2

  Internal hdd was not connectet with the pc. I have use the external
  hdd with usb 2.0 connection. The Installing crashed at the point "grub
  install".
