WORKAROUND: Although this does not fix the problem, it is a workaround. When installing from Ubiquity, uncheck "Install Third Party ...". 

This is a bug from alpha 1 (STILL IN alpha 2, CONFIRMED by me).

This bug crashed the installer twice for me.
