Title:
Installer seems to almost finish, hangs, then crashed

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After loading up the live cd, i went to install to disk. I chose to
install ubuntu side by side with windows. After going through its
process, the installer seemed to finish, however the cursor was
showing the busy sign. After a couple of minutes, an error came up
saying that the installer had crashed and asking me to send in an
error report. The report wanted me to attach 2 files (/var/log/syslog
and /var/log/parman) however I can only seem to attach one. It also
wanted me to include certain details but did not tell me which details
  those were.
