Public bug reported:

I have created an usb flash disk on Ubuntu 11.10:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdf bs=512 count=4096
partprobe -s
eject /dev/sdf
# disconnect / connect

usb-creator-gtk -i ubuntu-11.10-desktop-amd64.iso
# Apropos, how to specify flash disk in command line?
# erease disk, no persistence space

fdisk -l /dev/sdf
Disk /dev/sdf: 3984 MB, 3984588800 bytes
123 heads, 62 sectors/track, 1020 cylinders, total 7782400 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00000000

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdf1 * 62 7778519 3889229 c W95 FAT32 (LBA)

eject /dev/sdf
# disconnected

I have connected the disk into Lenovo IdeaPad S205 (AMD Zacate) and booted from it (F12, resp. Fn+F11).
The message `error "prefix" is not set' appeared and then scratched image on the screen. I had to switch off.
