  ubiquity allows setting an IP address as hostname

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  On the last step "Who are you ?" it is allowed to enter an IP address
  (e.g 127.0.0.1 ) as hostname (field "Your computer's name")  and then
  proceed with the installation.

  After installation the following entry is displayed in /etc/hosts
  127.0.1.1 127.0.0.1 127
