Also, sorry if this seems like the wrong question but doesn't the fact
that it worked just fine with Natty indicate it's a genuine bug
(hardware config would have been identical)? It may be you just want to
establish that the RAID signature is or isn't causing the bug - in which
case ignore me.

While testing the PowerEdge R810 with hostname 'Prunes' with Oneiric
Alpha3, during the installation there is the following message:
The attempt to mount a file system with the type ext4 in /dev/sda1 at
/ failed
You may resume partitioning from the partitioning menu.
Would you like to continue?
See the attached screenshot.
A similar issue was not seen with the Natty server image.
