Title:
  Ubiquity forces ecryptfs-encryption by default

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Under certain conditions ubiquity forces the user to encrypt his home.
The option is selected by default and greyed out, so that it cannot be
  changed.

This can be reproduced by having a manually partitioned system (with
seperate partitions for /boot, /, /home and swap). At the point of the
installationprocess, where you select the type of installation choose
"Something else" (i.e. manual), pick the partitions you want to use
and set all of them to be formatted except /home.

If there are any pre-existing user dirs and ANY of them contains a
.Private (or .ecryptfs), ubiquity will force encryption on the new
main-user for the new installation. I'm not sure if this is desired.
