Title:
Fresh install of Ubunto 11.10 crashed during importation of documents
and settings. Trying to install on a partition containing iminent
  failing disk

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This is my first attempt to install any *nix OS and so I attempted to
install to a previously sectioned off partition due to it's
fallibility. I set it to import the docs and settings of my other OS's
and when the installer attempted to import, it hung up at that point
for about 25 min and crashed.
