Title:
12.04 Installer stuck on 'Removing conflicting operating system files'

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The 12.04 installer gets to the "Removing conflicting operating system
files" step, and then just sits there forever without doing anything
else. The installer still responses to the input fields and the side
'change banner' buttons, but nothing else works.

Previous versions worked fine, so it must be a very recent
  regression...
