Title:
"A package manager is working" stays after aptitude update

Status in “update-notifier” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: update-notifier

  9.10 daily
  update-notifier 0.87

Running sudo aptitude update triggers the notification "a package
manager is working" (when apps/update-notifier/Auto launch is FALSE),
but the notifier icon stays even after aptitude update is finished.

aptitude safe-upgrade triggers it too but in this case it doesn't stay
  after the action

apt-get update doesn't trigger it at all

The GUI update manager triggers it with [check] and releases it
  immediately afterwards

I expect the behavior to be consistent
