Public bug reported:
I downloaded ubuntu-11.10-desktop-amd64.iso and attempted to make a
bootable USB drive to install it with.
I used two different (both new) USB drives and tried with both usb-creator-gtk and unetbootin to boot both a desktop and a laptop. in all cases I simply get a black screen with "Boot Error" before grub starts.
I also tried creating the image with 11.10 and 11.04
one clue is that I see this message on (only) one of the systems I tried
to use to create the image
[ 4680.880167] "echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message.
