  "The username you entered is invalid" on "Who are you?" screen when
  using preseeded install

Bug description:
  Steps to reproduce:

  1- Attempt to do an installation with the daily desktop image from
  2011-01-31, using "automatic-ubiquity" and the attached preseed file.
  Note the preseeded username is "ubuntu".

  Expected result:
  - Installation completes without human intervention

  Actual result:

  - The installation stops in the "Who are you?" screen with an error message next to the username field, stating "The username you entered is invalid. Note that usernames must start with a lower-case letter, which can be followed by any combination of numbers and more lower-case letters."
  - Once the username and password are entered, installation proceeds normally.
