Just to clarify the problem:

If I use the HOME lens to search for a file:
1) I type Super
2) I type "man"
3) two headings appear: "Applications" and "Files & Folders"
4) under the "Files & Folders" heading is what I am looking for: a file called "Manager" (but I have no use for the "Applications" heading and all the applications listed under it. So it would be more efficient for me to have typed "Super+F" but here's the problem if I do that:

1) I type Super+F
2) I type "man"
3) up pops two headings: "Recent" and "Folders" (there is no "Files" heading inexplicably).

I don't want to know about RECENT files. I want to know about THE file
called Manager. Why does Super+F not cause a "FILES" heading and
"FOLDERS" heading. A "Recent" heading is totally useless and users
should be able to disable this heading from ever showing. This way, when
I do a Super+F search, it will only bring up files and folders that
match my criteria and NOT list something just because it was accessed
recently.

Title:
Need setting to disable "Display-Recent-Files" for Dash's File-Lens

Status in “dash” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
A setting exists in 12.04 to disable the display of "Recent Apps" for
  the Applications Lens: dconf-editor > desktop > unity > lenses >
  applications > display-recent-apps

but there is no corresponding seting to disable the display of Recent
Files in the Files-Lens. There should be a setting in the files-lens
to disable the display of "Recent Files": dconf-editor > desktop >
  unity > lenses > files > [display-recent-files]

When I hit Super+F, I'm always stuck with Recent files & folders
clogging up my dash. For this reason I always end up using the HOME
option instead. It would be nice to be able to use the Files Lens
without having to put up with the accumulation of Recent documents.
