Well, the other bug is known and well understood. For this report I
think we should come to understand why in your case Internet names
didn't resolve over VPN and why changing the order of NSS modules fixed
it.

Bug description:
After the resolvconf overhaul in Ubuntu 12.04, DNS resolution no
longer works for VPN connections. Network Manager is able to connect
to the VPN, but no domain names resolve.
Please let me know what is needed to make this bug report more
helpful.
