[Bug 1086240] [NEW] update to precise messed up gnome-terminal font

Public bug reported:

After updating my system from lucid to precise the spacing of the font
used for gnome-terminal is completely messed up (see attached
screenshot). When I untick "Edit - Profile Preferences - General - Use
system font" (which enables Monospace 12 instead) the spacing is fixed.
I thought that Monospace 12 *was* the system font!?
