Title:
  Burner not working in 7,04 & 8.04

Status in “cdrkit” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  7.04 does not seem to recognize my cd/dvd burner as a burner.  It
  works fine as a reader but it won't burn.  I have attempted to get
  help with this on the forums
  (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=434443) but no one seems to
  have any suggestions.  There is another user reporting the same issue.
  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I am new to Linux..

  Anyway, I ran "sudo hdparm /dev/hdc" in a terminal session and got
  this result:
