  gparted did not start

Status in “gparted” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gparted

  Sorry for my english ;-)

  I had a harddisk with two partitions. One was Windows, the other
  Ubuntu 7.10. The Win-Partition crashed and so I decided to install
  Ubuntu 8.04.

  I put in the Live CD, everything startet properly. Then I clicked
  "Install", choose my city and keyboard layout. After clicking "next"
  the partition manager didn't start. The loading-bar was there, but
  stopped always with 53%.

  I had to wipe the MBR to get it working using "sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/dasmusstduselberwissen bs=512 count=1"
  After that I tried again and everything worked.

  I checked my Live CD but there was no error found.
