I've just done a netboot install of kubuntu, it has working network
after reboot and the following lines in /etc/network/interfaces:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# The primary network interface
#NetworkManager#auto em10
#NetworkManager#iface em10 inet dhcp

Bug description:
  After installing installing ubuntu server via the netboot image I get
  no (wired) internet connection on this hardware:
