  package linux-image-2.6.32-41-generic 2.6.32-41.88 failed to
  install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script

Bug description:
  I expected to download and update the latest updates from the Ubuntu
  repository. Instead of running to completion, the installation of the
  updates failed during the install phase.

  Problem occurred after the installation process began to read or search for grub, it searched for the splash screen unsuccessfully then began to install kernel packages. It got all the way down to the memtest86.bin then the installation process just sort of hung there for about half-hour or more. I finally ended the process with ctrl-c and rebooted.
  I am not sure this is a bug, but I have never seen this particular problem before. I don't know if I could get the system to repeat it or not.
