Title:
Usability Issue: update-manager hidden console with questions

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
While I upgrade from 11.10 to 12.04, the update manager seems frozen
for a long time. I clicked the "Details" link, and saw there is a
console dialog box awaiting me to confirm.

This could be a serious usability issue especially for non-techie
users. If update manager (or APT?) has to use console to interact
with user, it should automatically expand the console window so that
user can see there is a message need his/her input.

Of course, if possible, it should be 100% delegated to a GUI frontend.
