Bug description:
  This may be a duplicate of bug 555281 or bug 563179, I have no idea.
  Additional information (don’t know whether it’s relevant): the repository I tried to check out was at revision 0 (had never had any checkins).

  It worked the next time I tried it with the same checkout command.
  Cannot remember whether my KWallet was open or closed at that time,
  but I believe that it was open.

  This happened on Kubuntu 12.04 (beta) with subversion-1.6.17dfsg-
  3ubuntu3.
