We don't normally do tasks for single packages. Is there any way we can
encapsulate this into a larger use case somehow ("I want to ...")?

Title:
Add Linux Crashdump to tasksel for server install

Status in “tasksel” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When installing Ubuntu Server, the task selection should propose to
install Linux Crashdump. This would facilitate the installation and
enablement of the Linux Crashdump collection tools necessary for
  offline diagnostics.

Here is an example of a possible task description :

  Task: linux-crashdump
  Section: server
  Relevance: 2
  Description: Linux Crashdump
This task enables automatic creation of a kernel crash dump when the system panics.
  Key:
   linux-crashdump
  Packages: task-fields
