Please post your partition layout ('sudo parted -l').  It would also
help if you could recall the exact version when it last worked (both
Ubuntu and Windows partitions); if necessary perhaps successively
downgrade all the grub* packages to versions from
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+publishinghistory ...

  Started getting error: out of partition errors and windows partition

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I've been using precise since it was an alpha and I upgrade daily to
  keep up. Today I rebooted and started getting an error when I select
  my ubuntu partition 'error: out of partition' But it eventually does
  boot.  When I boot Windows 7 partition however, I get a disk error.
