Having the same problem with Lenovo E46

Linux lo 3.0.0-12-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 7 14:50:42 UTC 2011
i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

And i used "sudo service udev stop" to solve the problem.

  the segv was created by me sending a kill -11. but the 100% cpu is
  unbarable
