[Bug 863719] Re: The return of the text-mode nvidia splash screen

This change is due to an upload of the nvidia-graphics-drivers packages
today. I'm not sure if there's anything further that can be done here
to improve matters without regressing elsewhere, but plymouth can only
work with what the kernel gives us - and nvidia is changing that.
Reassigning.

** Package changed: plymouth (Ubuntu) => nvidia-graphics-drivers
(Ubuntu)

Title:
  The return of the text-mode nvidia splash screen

Status in “nvidia-graphics-drivers” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Up until today, running the oneiric beta, I've been pleasantly surprised to find that, even though I have an NVIDIA graphics card and I use the proprietary driver, I still got a graphical splash screen from plymouth (albeit a low resolution one). This was a great improvement over the text mode splash screen I get on my natty installation. Then today, woe... I installed some updates and the old ugly text-mode splash screen has returned.
  I don't know how to recover the list of the packages I updated today but I usually update every day so that should help narrow it down.
