suspend/resume is handled by pm-utils, not by upstart. Reassigning.

** Package changed: upstart (Ubuntu) => pm-utils (Ubuntu)

Title:
System hangs on standby when SD card is mounted

Status in “pm-utils” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
[Users have reported][1] and I have confirmed this behavior: standby
fails in Ubuntu 10.4 with all updates applied to date, but only when
an SD card is present and mounted in the system at the time the
  standby is initiated.

  I'm using a Dell Latitude X1 with a Transcend 4GB disk inserted. If I
remove or unmount the media before going into standby, the system will
  standby and resume without problems.

A workaround is provided in the referenced report, but this is clumsy
and inadequate. Please consider implementing a workaround in the core
  standby routine.

The system should standby and resume without any workaround and
without on resume launching the drive as if it had just been inserted.
