For me it didn't even help to eject the DVD, usb-creator still insisted
in using my (now empty) DVD drive!

This happenend on an installation of Oneiric Beta 2 amd64, on Natty I
didn't see this problem so far (was my drive always empty when I used
usb-creator in Natty? I'll check.).

Title:
dual-layer optical drive causes a "image is too large" error even when
I have chosen the appropriate ISO

Status in “usb-creator” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: usb-creator

I have a dual layer optical drive with a DVD in it.
  I had a blank 4-GB Sandisk Cruzer.
When I fire up usb creator, I see that it chooses the optical drive as the source by default. I browse to a Ubuntu ISO (which I have used successfully) and select it.

I still get an error that "image is too large".

I then unmounted/ejected the optical drive. Started up usb creator
again - this time, I have no problems creating a startup disk
  successfully.
