Hi, thank you for your report.
As you can see:
 "This can be caused by: 
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu"
I think it is because of some broken dependencies or some packages does not build in Oneiric as for now, and should be fixed shortly.

  Upgrade to Oneiric fails

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  After running "sudo update-manager -d", I get this error in the
  "setting new software channels" step:

  Could not calculate the upgrade

  An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
  E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.

   This can be caused by:
   * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
   * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
   * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

  If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command
  'ubuntu-bug update-manager' in a terminal.

  I've manually removed any third-party packages, and confirmed that I
  have no held packages using dpkg. I updated my natty packages before
  attempting the upgrade.
