Alternatively, if you still experience the problem, could you please trigger it once, and then attach these files:
/var/log/dpkg.log
/var/log/apthistory.log
/var/log/syslog

Thanks.

Title:
Adobe Reader package not getting installation completed which keeps
other packages to wait for long

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: software-center

I had chosen 13 apps to be installed, in which the first one was Adobe
Reader. It was showing the status as "Applying changes" for more than
one hour and still showing the progress bar, but not completed. This
halts me to install other apps.
