[Bug 856088] [NEW] Expert install defaults to invalid hostname

Public bug reported:

Running the expert install with D-I, it gives the first part of the IP
address I entered during manual network configuration as the recommended
hostname.  The installer should not allow, let alone recommend, invalid
hostnames.  See attached screenshot.
