It should be possible to get the logs directly off the Linux Mint Live
CD - you don't need to use any third party tools (you should find them
on the live session, they are not outputted to the hard drive).

You should be able to find them by pressing the "close" button when the
installer fails, and then opening Firefox and following the instructions
at the link I provided, you should find the logs on "File System" at
/var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman.
