Title:
update-manager crashed with AuthorizationFailed in _run():
  org.freedesktop.PolicyKit.Error.Failed: ('system-bus-name', {'name':
  ':1.234'}): org.debian.apt.update-cache

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I have upgraded from 11.04 to 11.10 and I have had a number of seg
faults, crashes in a number of programs most notably Empathy and Unity
which I need to restart every so often. I have an nVidia Optimus
hybrid video card on my Dell XPS 15Z laptop and I have installed
  software from bumblebee project.

I think this might have something to do with the problems I am
experiencing. I have used system tools to send bug reports.

  Happy to be of use.

  Regards.
