Thanks for this report, and sorry we didn't get to it earlier.
Unfortunately there aren't enough details here for us to do anything to fix the problem. If you still experience it, please reopen the report with answers to these questions:
1. What is slow, exactly? Does the problem occur just with VLC, or anything you try to install?
2. How long does it take? (Time it with a stopwatch.)

RELATING ON MY LAST BUG REPORT ABOUT VLC INSTALLATION.
The applying changes-stage of the installation is very slow. Could
this be because of the ubuntu being installed on a usb stick via
Windows: universal pendrive installer (or whatever the name for that
was..)
