Bug description:
  Binary package hint: coreutils

got bitten by build scripts using these; apparently on other
distributions they report something else than `unknown'. these
  configure scripts make wrong assumptions:

         -p, --processor
print the processor type or "unknown"

         -i, --hardware-platform
print the hardware platform or "unknown"

Nevertheless for less surprises it would be useful to set these values
  to something else than "unknown".
