The Edit menu has an Undo feature; along with "Unselect all", which will
de-select all changes. Furthermore, for changes to take effect one
already has to click the large checkmark "Apply" button in the toolbar.

I'm closing this bug as it seems all of the points in the description
are covered. Thanks for filing a bug and helping to make Ubuntu better!

  User can corrupt their system by wrong synaptic usage,so I suggest
  synaptic should provide 2 things on the GUI:1)."Reset" button to
  change the setting to the very orginal setting(including source
  list);2)Only when user click the "Apply" button, or his change will
  not take effect at all
