This is actually a unity bug not a bug in the Debian Almquist Shell
(dash).

** Package changed: dash (Ubuntu) => unity (Ubuntu)

Title:
  Dash search feature issues

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The Dash search feature has multiple issues.

  1. Does not reset after closing Dash, if you search, for example, for
"Firefox" then close the Dash, then reopen the Dash it is still at the
Results screen and still showing Firefox in the search bar. It should
  reset after close.

  2. Performing a search such as Firefox and pressing enter should open
Firefox, it does not. Enter appears to have no function.

  3. Opening Dash and then opening a Lense will not populate the Dash,
it will only populate after at least one character has been entered
  into the Search bar.
