Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug.  I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

  can not upgrade to ubuntu 11.10 from 11.04

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  When I am trying to upgrade my ubuntu with "update-manager -d" the
  process terminates with "Invalid package information". And I get the
  massage "After your package information was updated the essential
  package 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore.This indicates a
  serious error, please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug
  update-manager' in a terminal and include the files in /var/log/dist-
  upgrade/ in the bug report." But the package  'ubuntu-minimal' was
  installed. The files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ are attached .
