Bug description:
  I clicked on "Check" and as the new updates showed up I clicked on
  "Install Updates" then BANG! The Update Manager crashed ( the window
  remained white dimmed but the update process stopped )

  I tried to update from command line but the 'lock' files were still in
  place, so I had to delete them manually
