Sorry, Daniel, I distracted you with a mistake in an implementation
detail. I meant not Humanity, but ubuntu-mono providing light and dark
variations not just of go-previous-symbolic but of go-previous as well.

Can we get back to the question of whether, and if so why, USC should
use different Back and Forward icons from Firefox? Firefox has a compact
toolbar, while USC has a spacious labelled toolbar, both for good
reasons. So there might not be an "Ubuntu way to do this UI element". It
might genuinely be context-sensitive. So it might be appropriate to use
not just different button styles, but different icons as well -- but
looking at Matthew's screenshot (thanks for providing it), it's not
obvious to me why it should.

Bug description:
  The latest USC now uses back and forward arrows from the theme (which
  is great!), but it would be even better if it would use symbolic
  icons. The latest version of Humanity should include both arrow icons
  in -symbolic variants.
