[Bug 840049] [NEW] Kubuntu 11.04 fails to install

Public bug reported:

I was running Mandriva 2010.2 and switched to kubuntu.  I was using my
previous partitions and mountpoints.  After formatting / and /usr the
installation process gets about halfway complete and then fail.  I have
tried 3 times.  There are no apparent problems with the installation DVD
(x86-64).
