Title:
Installation crashed with multiple partitions on same hd
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
So sorry, but the system would not let me log onto terminal..access denied
Original message on screen "Sorry installation crashed contact https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuquity/+filebug and please include the /var/log/syslog and also /car/log/partman:"
and at this point the message stopped and the report program continued
to attempt to start and failed.
I am using the AMD64 processor, ULIM1689 Chipset, and I am trying to
partition root, boot, usr, var, home and temp each to their own
partitions using fairly large numbers. I am going to run many Audio
Workstation sessions and files.
I AM A TOTAL NOOB.
Should I just reinstall without partitions except primary on the whole disk? Or reformat again and start over? Single install on home network...internet onboard works fine...had momentary troubles with cd rom message "clean it and it may work or you may have a hard drive problem" then continued after I reinserted iso disc..so I figured that was a momentary hiccup. Have restarted and nothing "appears" to be happening although the cd light and the hard drive light have been constantly on for 20 minutes after reboot with install cd in cd rom. I have 160G Sata hd, 3 gig ram, 1 gig video card in 4/8x slot...also have firewire card and usb mouse and music keyboard controller hooked up with midi...let me unplug all non-essentials...could that be the problem. Sorry for the interruption and thanks in advance for your kind help.

also,
had planned partition sizes as follows:
/ 10 gig
/usr 10 gig
/var 10 gig
/tmp 10 gig
/home 60 gig
rest as swap...labelled all but swap and boot as "beginning" and "logical" with file type 4
