The iso-scan/filename parameter has been removed and it looks like its
been changed to live-media-path and other changes around how it works
have been made. It would be helpful if you could test this again with
Ubuntu 11.10. Thanks in advance.

Title:
'persistent' parameter does not work in combination with 'iso-
  scan/filename=...' parameter?

Status in “casper” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: casper

As introduction, please have a look at the attached menu.lst of my 1GB
USB stick which I mainly use for emergency situations. The USB stick
contains a single FAT16 partition of 1GB. I specifically use ISO files
of the various distributions to be able to burn it on a CD in case the
BIOS does not allow to boot from USB.

Although the root of the partition contains a casper-rw file
(containing an ext3 filesystem) and the 'persistent' kernel parameter
is added, persistance is not working and /var/log/casper.log mentions
'Unable to find the persistent medium.'

To be sure, I've added the casper-rw label to both the FAT16 partition
itself and the ext3 partition inside the casper-rw file, but still no
  persistance.

It seems that the 'persistent' parameter does not work in combination
with 'iso-scan/filename=...' parameter. I consider this a bug.
