Title:
Startup Disk Creator failing to create bootable USB with Ubuntu 10.04
Status in “usb-creator” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: usb-creator-gtk
I am using Startup Disk Creator to create a bootable USB. When I try to boot a machine from the USB disc that has been created I get the following message:
"SYSLINUX 3.63 Debian-2008-07-15 EBIOS Copyright (C) 1994-2008 H. Peter Anvin
boot:"
If you presse Enter the following message is received:
"Could not find kernel image: Linux"
The above results have been obtained on Dell Latitude D620 and Acer
Aspire One
This is the same for all disc images tested so far. I have tried to
create images from the following ISOs with the same result:
Ubuntu Lucid 32 bit desktop
Ubuntu Lucid 64 bit desktop
Ubuntu Karmic 32 bit desktop
My laptop Dell Latitude D620 is using Ubuntu Lucid 64 bit.
