Title:
Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 1 installation incredibly slow or stuck.

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I just tried installing Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 1 AMD64 using the regular desktop ISO. I booted it up in VirtualBox, and chose for "Try Ubuntu". When I was in the live environment, I started the installation. Another small bug is that some keys seemed to get "stuck" ("robin" -> "roooooooobinnn"), but I don't know if that was due to VirtualBox. Anyway, the installation is going extremely slow (or is it just stuck? I don't know...), because I've been looking at "Configuring target system..." for half an hour now. The progres bar is at about 25%, and I am already being showed the "Thanks again for choosing Ubuntu" slide, so it might also be a good idea to base the slideshow on the progressbar's value, rather than a static timer.
In case anyone needs to know more, I've saved the virtual machine's state.
